Bangor School of Law welcomes applications from suitably qualified graduates to read for the degrees of PhD, MPhil and LLM Res by research. For a PhD degree, you are expected to present the results of your research in a thesis which represents a significant original contribution to knowledge in the subject area studied, and to undergo a viva voce examination.
We offer PhD and Masters by Research programmes by distance learning across a range of subject areas in arts, law and humanities. Generally, these programmes do not have any taught content, and are completed with a thesis of 80,000 words for the PhD and 40,000 words for an MA by Research. You can choose to study either full-time or part-time.
